A few photos from a wonderful wedding shot in a classic documentary style with a few slightly staged portraits. The service took place in St. Bartholomew Church and the wedding reception at the Royal Arms in Sutton Cheney. The 4-star rated Restaurant and Inn is situated in a picturesque countryside and it is perfect for a romantic getaway and your wedding reception. The Royal Arms has excellent private dining and conference facilities, and a purpose built barn with adjacent marquees for weddings and banqueting.
I love photographing outside Nottingham and especially in secluded places such as the Royal Arms in Sutton Cheney. The drive over there was a nice adventure on its own, I must admit. GPS signal was strong but unfortunately without very precise location. All was good in the end and I got to the initial meeting on time but I’ve decided to always have a map with me just in case. Relying on your GPS alone can prove to be a big mistake. When a wedding photographer is late for a wedding he’s been hired to document, it is very unprofessional and at best, will cost a future recommendation. In my book it’s unacceptable, however one must keep in mind that we’re only human and unfortunately very much a subject to outside forces often beyond our control.
