The Bride With Her Father

I think the moment the bride walks into the church with her father by the arm is a very special and significant moment for both parties. Some brides prefer to have have their father walk them down the aisle only halfway and then continue to walk by themselves. Traditionally, this symbolizes the bride’s transition from dependence to independence and that she will now have a new life with her husband. The walk is probably the one of the key events in a wedding and it should be emphasized properly. Too often I see the brides and her father and bridesmaids rushing in and walking to fast. I think most guests await this moment so long that the experience should be extended to a satisfactory duration. In terms of photography, the slower the better.
