How Much Alcohol Is Enough?

Buying alcohol for your wedding reception can be quite a challange. The amount and types of alcohol to buy and serve may very depending on your cultural traditions, your guest list, and their individual drinking habits. On average you should allow for one or two glasses of sherry, champagne or wine for each guest as an aperitif. During the meal allocate each guest three to four glasses of wine, and one or two glasses of champagne, as well as one litre of soft drinks. You should be able to get about six to eight glasses out of each bottle of champagne or wine and about ten to twelve glasses from each bottle of sherry. The type of food you serve and the length of your wedding reception may also influence how much alcohol you will need to allocate for each guest.
